City Of Joel (2019)
City of Joel follows an ultra-orthodox Hasidic sect as they wage a turf war with their secular neighbors. 50 miles north of New York City, the Satmar sect has thrived in a 1.1 square mile religious haven called Kiryas Joel, or City of Joel, for over 40 years. With some of the highest rates of marriage, birth, and religious observance in the US, their success has come at a price, as Kiryas Joel is no longer big enough to hold its 22,000 members. When a plan is created to double the size of the village to keep up with its growth, their secular neighbors fight back, believing that the expansion will disrupt their lives, harm the environment, and tilt the balance of local political power. With unprecedented access, the documentary presents people on all sides of a conflict - from religious zealots to dissidents, from rabbis to people who doubt their own faith as they struggle to find their place in the City of Joel.

New Year’s Eve Concert 1997: A Tribute to Carmen (2020)
The Berliner Philharmoniker’s annual New Year’s Eve concert is one of the highlights in the calendar of every classical music fan. The program of the New Year’s Eve Concert 1997 bore the title ”Dances of Life, Love, and Death”, and was meant as a homage to Carmen. The Berliner Philharmoniker, under the baton of Claudio Abbado, performed a cross-section of famous melodies from George Bizet’s opera, plus famous dances that were influenced by it. Sarasate's Carmen Fantasy is played with fiery virtuosity by violinist Gil Shaham and transforms Bizet's melodies into a concentrated instrumental extravaganza. The Carmen theme continues with Ravel's Rhapsodie Espagnole and De Falla's Ritual Fire Dance. Including international superstars Anne Sofie von Otter, Bryn Terfel, Roberto Alagna, Gil Shaham and Mikhail Pletnev.

Leonard Bernstein - Ode to Freedom (2019)
The Fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 unleashed a wave of democratisation in Central and Eastern Europe that radically transformed the world order. In a typically grandiose yet eloquent gesture, Leonard Bernstein spontaneously accepted an invitation to conduct a performance to celebrate this freedom. It was only fitting that East Germany’s new-found freedom should be celebrated with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The monumental work, perhaps the world’s most famous symphony, was inspired by Schiller´s poem “Ode to Joy”, a passionate paean to freedom. Adding to the symbolism of the event, Bernstein conducted an orchestra and choir formed of musicians from both East and West Germany (Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden), as well as the United States (New York Philharmonic), Great Britain (London Symphony), France (Orchestre de Paris) and the Soviet Union (Orchestra of the Kirov Theatre). This outstanding concert was broadcast in more than 20 countries.
