Unemployed and unmotivated Hlynur (Hilmir Snaer Gudnason) is still living with his mother, Berglind (Hanna Maria Karlsdottir), in a decidedly non-picturesque section of Reykjavik, Iceland, spending his days watching porn and wandering around the city. One drunken night Hlynur sleeps with Lola (Victoria Abril), his mother's vivacious, avowedly lesbian flamenco teacher. Soon afterwards, Berglind announces that she and Lola are lovers and that -- by the way -- Lola is pregnant.
